The White County Creative Writers Conference is less than 30 days away! We’ll gather on Saturday, June 14, at the White County Extension Building in Searcy, Arkansas. Doors open at 8:00 a.m., and sessions begin promptly at 8:30.
Here are five easy ways to get the most out of this year’s event:
1. Register if you haven’t yet.
The cost is just $35, and you can download the registration form here.
2. Get to know our featured speakers.
We’re honored to welcome two excellent presenters: JC Fields and David Lane Williams. Take a few minutes to look at their websites and explore their work — you’ll appreciate their sessions even more.
3. Bring your favorite notebook (or laptop).
You’ll want to capture practical tips, creative inspiration, and memorable quotes throughout the day. Taking good notes now translates to better writing later.
4. Prepare to buy a book or two.
There will be several display tables featuring books from our speakers and members. Plus, every attendee gets a $5 coupon to use at any table. It’s a great way to support fellow writers and discover new favorites.
5. Brush up on the session topics.
David Lane Williams will offer insight into police procedure—a must for writers across genres who want to add authenticity to their scenes.
JC Fields will dive into short story writing and the essence of the thriller novel. No matter what genre you write, these sessions will be packed with valuable guidance.
BONUS TIP:
Get to know J.B. Hogan, the newest member of the Arkansas Writers Hall of Fame! We’ll honor him with a special induction ceremony during the conference. To explore his work ahead of time, click here.
