We meet the 4th Monday of each month, 6:30 p.m.
The meeting concludes around 8:00 p.m.

As always, prospective members are welcome to learn more about us by attending a meeting. There is no obligation … but there will be snacks.

Program: Anatomy of a Scene.
Our February meeting offers a detailed look at how scenes function in fiction, including goals, conflict, pacing, and endings that move stories forward.

We’ll discover how effective scenes are built, what they should accomplish, and how to strengthen the building blocks of any story.

March 23, 2026.
Scene-Focused Read Around. Based on the principles and practices we discussed in the February meeting, everyone will bring a scene they have written (700 words max) and share it with the group.

April 27, 2026
Program: Conflict, Tension, and Momentum. A practical look at how conflict and friction create momentum in writing, shaping scenes, dialogue, and meaning across genres.

May 25, 2026
Program: Conflict Read Around. We invite everyone to bring a conflict-driven piece to share with the group, based on the principles we discussed in our April meeting.

June 22, 2026
Program: Read Around Free-For-All. Everyone is invited to bring something to read. Ideally, something you entered in one of our contests for the June Writers’ Conference.  Or, you can read anything else you would like to share. It’s a free-for-all. 700 word limit.
