WCCW Meeting Schedule:

We meet on the 4th Monday of each month, at 6:30 p.m.

First Community Bank
800 E Beebe Capps Expressway.
(Between Dairy Queen and Pizza Hut.  Enter through the East door on the Beebe Capps side.)

As always, prospective members are welcome to learn more about us by attending a meeting. There is no obligation … but there will be snacks!

Program: Drabbles Read Around.
This meeting will consist of a Drabble read around, based on Don’s introduction last month. We’ll also discuss the stories. Here are some guidelines to follow for writing a Drabble, along with some Drabble examples.

April 28, 2025
Program: In the Beginning.
This meeting will focus on strategies for getting your story off to the best possible start by crafting a compelling first: First Sentence, First Paragraph, First Page, First Chapter.

May 26, 2025
Program: More About the Beginning.
In this meeting we’ll discuss a few more ideas about sentence structure and story structure. You’re also invited to share one of your favorite first sentences — either from a book you enjoy or something you’ve written.

June 23, 2025
Program: Contest Read Around
If you entered something in one of our contests this year, we invite you to read it at this meeting. Even if you didn’t enter a contest, you’re still invited to bring something to read!
