Bambi George
Bambi has been interested in writing since first grade and was challenged to write a fun story about traveling to Hawaii. As she grew older, her teachers encouraged her to continue her writing adventures. She often spent study hall time daydreaming and writing fantasy plays about adventures she and her friends would want to experience.
In 5th grade, she won a poetry contest writing about the interchanges of today, yesterday, and tomorrow. She had the honor of reading it to the wife of the governor of Arkansas, Hillary Clinton, at a dinner for all the winners. She continued to write many stories which were adventurous, but they were destroyed or lost during numerous moves as a child and then later as an adult.
In high school, she had to complete an anthology of poetry based on various topics. Instead of using the poetry of others, she wrote every poem herself, realizing she loved the process of creating and writing.
Like many others, writing was set aside while she focused on her continuing education, four children, husband and work duties. Before her second grandchild made her appearance, she picked up her pen once again and wrote a Suessical story about her oldest granddaughters reaction to a new sibling.
Bambi has been working on short stories ever since. Her passion is writing children’s stories, but she also likes to focus on reflective stories about her life. She joined the WCCW group in the fall of 2023 and began exploring other writing styles. She won her first adult contest at the Arkansas Creative Writers Conference in June 2024. Since then, she has won awards at the White County Creative Writers Conference, Ozark Creative Writers Conference, and other contests. She has made many friends in the writing community.
Bambi is currently working on a series of children’s books based on life adventures with her three grandchildren. In addition to writing, she also loves spending quality time with her family, her friends, and her dogs.
